High-profile Dundee businessman Andy Lothian is to take a new role at the global learning and development group he co-founded with his father.

Mr Lothian has moved to a new strategic post as chief executive of Insights Group, the parent company which oversees subsidiary units Insights Learning and Development Ltd (ILD) and DogFish Mobile, a digital services firm acquired by the group last year.

His new duties will include exploring opportunities to enhance Insights Group’s capabilities and providing opportunities for shareholders to diversify their interests.

Mr Lothian’s former role as day-to-day chief executive of ILD – the global people development brand – has been filled by the promotion of chief operating officer Fiona Logan.

She said she was excited to be taking the helm of ILD at a time when the company was growing strongly.

The business – which counts Microsoft, John Lewis and LinkedIn among its clients – expects to produce revenues of £55 million in the current financial year.

“Insights is an amazing company to be part of,” said Ms Logan, who prior to joining ILD in 2015 was chief executive of Loch Lomand and the Trossachs National Park. “We have achieved so much during the last three years as we have strived to attain our strategic goals.

“We continue to have a real impact with our customers and in our wider communities, as we seek to live by our values and realise our purpose.

“I am humbled and inspired to now be in the position to lead this incredible business, and to continue learning from the people within it, as we begin the next phase of our journey.”

Mr Lothian said he would continue to support ILD’s growth.

“I’m excited and delighted that Fiona will now lead Insights Learning and Development into a compelling and expansive future,” he said.

“Fiona and her team will build on the legacy everyone at Insights has created.

“Her appointment will ensure continuity and leadership for our people, our customers and our community.”
