The next meeting of Scone Seniors Club is at 2.30pm next Wednesday in the village’s RDM Institute when a group of singers from Hillfoot Harmony will provide the entertainm­ent.

COMMUNITY COUNCIL The next monthly meeting of Pitlochry and Moulin Community Council is in Pitlochry High School next Wednesday at 7.30pm.

GARDENING

Older people in Perth are being invited to try potting and planting a windowsill garden at a free tabletop gardening workshop at St Matthew’s Church Hall, Tay Street, Perth, next Wednesday from 2 to 4pm.

Experts from Trellis, the national charity for therapeuti­c gardening, will be hosting the workshop.

Anyone who wants to book a place should contact Barbara MacPhee at the Royal Voluntary Service in Perth on 01738 633975, email taysidehub@royalvolun­taryservic­e.org.uk or just come along on the day.

ABERNETHY

Jim Jermyn, head gardener at the National Trust’s Branklyn Gardens in Perth, is the speaker at the next meeting of the Abernethy Horticultu­ral Society next Wednesday at 7.30pm in the Masonic Hall, Main Street, Abernethy.

He will talk about his work at Branklyn, which is a haven of peace and tranquilit­y within walking distance of Perth city centre.

PITLOCHRY

Pitlochry Pavilion User Groups (PUGs) and the Pitlochry Scouts are hosting a BYOB race night in Moulin Hall tomorrow.

The event is 7 for a 7.30pm start.

HISTORY GROUP North Perthshire Family History Group will meet in Moulin Hall next Thursday at 2.30pm.

Gordon Dilworth is the speaker and his subject is ‘Where Were You When President Kennedy Was Shot?’.
