All Good welcomes Glaswegian DJ and producer Jasper James to the Reading Rooms tonight.

With talent that stretches beyond his years, Jasper has crafted his own brand of house and techno through DJ sets at some of the world’s most respected clubs.

Support comes from residents Van D and Ethan Bell from 10.30pm.

For their second show of the weekend, All Good has Super Hans tomorrow as part of his Big Bear Manifesto Live tour.

After sell out shows all across the UK, Super Hans is back on the road with his allnew crew The Peace Posse, who are coming to Dundee for the first time.

Frequency UK makes its debut on Wednesday with Frequency Sessions 001.

An ode to the purest form of techno, residents Jst Mickile, Paul Findlay and Ross Wilkinson promise to bring you all the best cuts of earth-shattering frequencie­s and plunge the Reading Rooms into the deepest, darkest recesses of techno.

Entry is £5 all night and gates open at 10pm.

Thursday’s Reckless Kettle sees resident Fergus Tibbs go back B2B with Vinyl Matt of This Way Up bringing a high quality mixture of dub, reggae, dancehall, jungle and garage.

The Bell Rock Tavern in Tayport starts its ambitious new programme of live music tonight.

New mine host Sarah Hill has a well-known history of hosting live music, having been in charge of The Doghouse in Dundee during its golden era when the likes of The View and The Law regularly played there.

This Saturday at the opening night, from 8pm until late, there will be some rockin’ goodness from Sin City Blues.

Cherry Bombz are also unplugged tonight at Doc Stewarts from 9pm.

McDaniels has acoustic covers from The Lawson Brothers tonight at 9pm. Tomorrow it’s The Elaine Stewart Band from 9.30pm.

Bedrock are in the teatime session at Number 57 tomorrow from 5.30pm.

On Sunday it’s The Junkyard Dogs in their usual 7pm slot.

Legendary British rock and roll group The Godfathers are at Beat Generator Live tomorrow with support from Heavy Drapes and the Delinquent­s.

Kieron Smart plays Britpop and indie anthems tonight at Clark’s on Lindsay Street.

Tomorrow it’s the sounds of the 60s and more from local legends Tripper.

Both start at 9.30pm with free entry before midnight.

The Sunday Song Club is hosted by The Collective with special guests and open mic from 7.30pm.

The Bank Bar has Headroom tonight from around 9.30pm.

Sinderins’ Stevie Anderson and Dave Webster are at the same time tomorrow.

Songwriter­s Sunday is hosted by Gav McGinty and Martin Tino Allan at 8.30pm.

Dave Webster is back on Wednesday for his weekly open mic night from 8.30pm.

Calling all young Courier Country bands!

The 2018 Westfest Battle of the Bands competitio­n has been launched, with the chance to play in front of thousands of people at a prestigiou­s slot on the main stage at Westfest Big Sunday at Magdalen Green in Dundee on June 3.

There are also great prizes on offer for two runners-up, an EP recording and EP Launch along with 10 hours of free rehearsals at DM Studios in Dundee.

Heats will be held in Dundee’s Church and Perth’s Green Room but young musicians will have to get their skates on as the deadline is on Monday, February 12.
