Ferguson key man for Reign

-

Dunfermline Reign’s diminutive point guard Craig Ferguson will be the key man when they visit his student club Edinburgh University in the Scottish League at the Pleasance today.

Ferguson almost completed a remarkable “triple double” in Reign’s high-scoring 106 -74 home win over Glasgow Storm last weekend.

His tally of 25 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists was just one assist short of the coveted accolade he has threatened a few times this season.

Also among the points were Jake Sirrell, who top-scored with 27 and Eric Potts with 16 as all 10 players scored.

Currently fifth in the table, Reign will need to be in top form today to stay above the talented but erratic EU who have a backlog of games to catch up on.

Tayside Musketeers are also away at the Pleasance tomorrow to Scottish Cup winners EU women.

Muskies coach Donnie MacDonald will not have far to travel as he moved house last weekend to be nearer to his new job at Napier University.

MacDonald is delighted to welcome back Paula Foster and Kathryn Taylor after injury, though he may only use the two experienced caps sparingly.

“We need to be careful not to rush their return,” he said.

Play-off rivals Falkirk Fury visit champions City of Edinburgh Kats at Portobello HS today.
