Perth board members needed

-

Perth Citizens Advice Bureau (Cab) is looking to recruit interested and motivated individuals to join its board of directors and support its work.

The organisation helps thousands of people each year who are struggling with problems such as benefits claims and debt.

To do so, it relies upon a staff of more than 60 dedicated volunteers who undertake roles from administration to IT and from fundraising to serving on the board of directors.

The service is now looking to strengthen the latter, with chief executive Sandy Watts keen to welcome interest from all sectors of the community.

“We would especially welcome anyone able to share their knowledge and experience of financial management, human resources, information technology or marketing,” Sandy said.

“Perth Cab is a registered charity providing a wide range of free advice services for the residents across Perth and Kinross.

“The bureau is staffed by a team of voluntary and paid staff who are all based in the Perth office but services are provided throughout the whole region.

“The board of directors meets quarterly with sub-committee meetings in between but the total time commitment can vary dependent on areas of interest of individual members.”

Anyone who is interested in supporting the work of Perth Cab and would like to find out more should call Sandy or Karen on 01738 450581.
