Kamara loves life with Dundee... just don’t mention the weather

- NEIL ROBERTSON

Dundee midfielder Glen Kamara admits that while he has fully adjusted to Scottish football, the weather in this country is a totally different matter.

The 22-year-old midfielder has been a big success story since he joined the Dark Blues last summer and his performances for Neil McCann’s side have led to international recognition from Finland.

Kamara was called up to a training camp for his country in the United Arab Emirates during the Premiership’s winter break.

He really enjoyed the experience – even if he then had to reacclimatise when he landed back in Scotland.

Kamara said: “We are more than halfway through the season, so I would say I have adjusted well to Scottish football now.

“It has been good just to play every week and I am really enjoying it. It is harder work than what I was used to but I am happy to do it.

“Hopefully I can add some goals to my game. I would definitely like to get up the pitch a bit more.

“Playing every week has also helped me get into the international squad. I was away in Abu Dhabi and it was a big shock coming back here – it was so cold.

“It is a long time since I lived in Finland and I have probably gone a bit soft! But it was nice to be away being able to train in the sunshine.”

Kamara will be at Rugby Park tonight in a Dundee squad looking to halt a run of successive defeats to Ross County and Motherwell.

He added: “We will try to put things right against Kilmarnock.

“Saturday was a big disappointment. There wasn’t much in it and if we had taken our chances we could have won it.

“Hopefully we can push on now.”

It was nice tobeaway and being able to train in the sunshine. GLEN KAMARA
