Careers fair will guide students
Some of the region’s biggest employers have signed up for an event aimed at getting young people on the pathway to work.
The Perth College careers fair will be held on Thursday March 1.
It will give students and others the chance to discuss possible future careers with representatives of businesses including SSE, Arnold Clark, Scottish Water and Aviva.
The Forestry Commission and Crieff Hydro and will be represented, as well as several universities and colleges.
The fair is now in its sixth year and is expected to welcome more than 600 visitors from across the region.
It will be held in the college’s Academy of Sport and Wellbeing from 3pm to 7.30pm.
Helen Davidson, team leader for the North East at Skills Development Scotland, said: “The fair is a fantastic opportunity to find out first hand from local and national employers and representatives from colleges, universities and training providers about the options that are available to young people in the area.”
Head of secondary education at Perth and Kinross Council, Rodger Hill, said: “Events such as this provide an excellent showcase for companies and organisations as they tap into the workforce of the future.
“I will be encouraging all our secondary schools to engage in this opportunity so that our young people have the information required to make considered choices.”
