Bigger jumps should suit Teddy to tee

Richards’ charge expected to prosper over fences, starting today at Ayr

TEDDY TEE can come good over fences in the Biggest Ever Jumps Season On Racing UK Handicap Chase at Ayr, if the course survives an early morning inspection.

Nicky Richards’ inmate was not prolific over hurdles, winning just once in nine attempts, but always looked the type to do better once faced with the larger obstacles.

Although a nine-year-old, Teddy Tee has not had much racing, and he has put together two very decent efforts this season, finishing third at Hexham and second at Newcastle.

ANGELINA D’OR should enjoy her first taste of success in the 32Red.com Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Lingfield.

Mark Johnston’s three-year-old shaped with abundant promise on her juvenile debut at Wolverhampton in late November, looking in need of the experience before coming home well to finish a never-nearer fourth over the extended mile.

It is perhaps a shade disappointing that she has not really improved massively in two starts since, but she has turned in solid efforts at Newcastle and Chelmsford, finishing second and third respectively.

She has appeared a little one paced when push has come to shove, but that should not be such an issue as she tackles a mile-and-a-quarter for the first time and she certainly sets the standard on her return from a twomonth break. DARKEST LIGHT can register his second win in less than a week in the Play For Free At sunbets.co.uk/vegas Handicap.

The son of Lethal Force offered little promise in three starts in novice company, but a wind operation and a switch to handicaps saw him score with more in hand than the official winning distance of three-quarters of a length might suggest at Chelmsford on Thursday evening.

He is clearly much better than his opening mark of 52 and it is no surprise Jamie Osborne has decided to send him into battle again quickly under the mandatory penalty.
