School praised by inspectors
A Rosyth primary school has been praised by inspectors for its many strengths.
A team from Education Scotland found St John’s RC Primary had strong, positive relationships across the whole school community.
This had a positive impact on children’s engagement in their learning, they said.
Among the other strengths was the very strong focus on pupil wellbeing across all aspects of school life, a caring Catholic ethos, a staff team who work well together with pupils and parents and the very strong leadership of the head teacher.
Children at St John’s were found to be confident and positive when speaking to inspectors about their learning and had opportunities to contribute to the life of the school.
The school was also praised for knowing its children and families well and helping to support and include all families in all aspects of school life.
Head teacher John Hutcheon said: “We are delighted and proud of our inspection findings. We are particularly pleased that the very positive relationships between staff, pupils, parents and partner agencies have been highlighted and clearly contribute to our super children.
“Of course, there is always room for improvement and we have been asked to develop our curriculum, ensuring that it is relevant and meets the needs of our pupils within our own unique setting.”
