Retailer plans new Perth store

-

The Edinburgh Woollen Mill is preparing to open its newest store on the edge of Perth.

The outlet, at Dobbies Garden Centre, Huntingtower Park, Crieff Road, will create five new jobs.

It is scheduled to open next Thursday, with a range of incentives for early customers.

Area manager Catriona Simpson said: “We are delighted to bring the iconic Edinburgh Woollen Mill brand to Dobbies Garden Centre in Perth.

“The concession will complement our existing store on St John Street, as well as being a fantastic addition to the garden centre.”

Goodie bags will be handed out to the first 20 customers who make a purchase in the store.

Envelopes will also be hidden around the shop as part of an opening day competition.

Customers can exchange them for vouchers.

The Langholm-based Edinburgh Woollen Mill company was established in the 1940s and opened its first store in Edinburgh in 1970.

There are now more than 260 Edinburgh Woollen Mill shops across Britain.

In 2016, the expanding company acquired fashion retailer Austin Reed.

Last year, bosses opened their first department store in Wales.

It features other brands bought by the company, including Peacocks and Jane Norman.
