A care worker in an old people’s home is to face a disciplinary probe, accused of pulling down a resident’s trousers.

Karla Kirschlagerova is said to have shouted at colleagues: “If you are going to do it you should do it properly.

“How would you feel if you were dressed like this?” before pulling the old lady’s trousers “down to her ankles” in a public area of the Stormont Lodge care home in Blairgowrie.

Kirschlagerova will face a hearing at the Scottish Social Services Council’s offices in Dundee on March 19 over allegations of misconduct while she was employed at the Balhousie Care Group-owned home in 2016.

The SSSC’s Fitness to Practise Panel will decide whether the claims are true and, if so, if Kirschlagerova’s fitness to work in the care industry is impaired.

She could have a sanction placed on her registration on the section of the SSSC’s register for support workers in a care home service for adults.

Kirschlagerova is accused of three separate instances of misconduct which, if proved, could amount to breaches of the SSSC’s code of conduct.

According to the panel’s Notice of Hearing, it is claimed that, among other allegations, and in addition to the alleged incident over the woman’s trousers, she repeatedly pulled another female resident by the arm to make her stand, shouted “stand up”, shouted “look up”, repeatedly pushed her head back with her hand, and repeatedly tapped or slapped her under her chin.

It is alleged that her actions caused distress and physical harm.

In the old lady’s presence, Kirschlagerova is also said to have remarked to colleagues: “Can you believe her son was complaining about how we treat her? Look at her, do you blame us?”

According to the SSSC’s Notice of Hearing, the allegations may be amended during the hearing and the panel may decide that not all of the allegations are proved.
