Tayside Fire Brigade is to get a new computerised command and control system at a cost of £1.3 million. The region’s policy and resources sub-committee approved the estimated total cost and accepted a tender from Fortek Computers for supply and installation of the equipment. The brigade’s communications centre is currently at Blackness Road headquarters in Dundee. A new centre has been built at Macalpine Road which the brigade expect to take over building next month.
