Perth event moves on to percussion, readings and country dancing

The Perform in Perth festival moved on to percussion, readings and Scottish country dancing.

Pupils from across Perth and Kinross competed in several classes, including the snare drum, xylophone and timpani.

Meanwhile, children also gave readings in front of the adjudicators, including excerpts from the Bible.

The Soutar Theatre at the AK Bell Library and Glenearn Community Campus were among the venues hosting the festival.

Eileen Waterston, president of Perform in Perth, said: “There are around 90 hours of performance over the whole festival, through all three disciplines of music, speech and dance.”
