Rovers plan to ease short-term cash flow issue

‘Very early bird’ season ticket offer

- Iain collin

Raith Rovers have launched a special cut-price season-ticket deal in a bid to help ‘ease short-term cash flow’.

The Stark’s Park outfit have bemoaned the loss of income caused by the postponement of Sunday’s derby against East Fife, which was called off because of a frozen pitch.

The Kirkcaldy club say they lost out on sold-out hospitality and ball and match sponsor cancellations, as well as the likely drop off in attendance when the game is replayed next Tuesday.

With uncertainty over where Rovers will be playing their football next season, as Barry Smith’s side battle for promotion back to the Championship, directors have not yet finalised details of season tickets for next term.

However, in order to bring in muchneeded income, Raith have made 200 season-tickets available as a ‘very early bird’ offer.

A statement said: “Given that there is still a lot to play for and we are still very hopeful of playing in the Championship next season, we clearly have not yet been able to finalise our exact gate and season-ticket prices for 2018-19 at this time.

“However, in order to help ease our short-term cash flow caused by Sunday’s postponement, we are prepared for a limited period to offer a very early bird price on the first 200 season tickets sold.

“We will look to release our early bird prices by the end of the season!”

Tickets, priced £240 for adults, £125 for a senior and £520 for a family of four, go on sale at the club tomorrow.
