CCTV hope in bid to find Dundee sex attacker

-

Police investigating the sexual assault of a 22-year-old woman in Dundee’s west end have released CCTV images of a man they want to trace.

The attack happened on Bellefield Avenue, which runs north from the bottom of Roseangle, sometime between 2.30am and 3.10am on Sunday January 28.

The victim was in Corfu Kebabs in Seagate at around 1.50am at the time of an “altercation” between two women.

Police had previously issued an appeal for anyone at the takeaway at this time to come forward in their search for the attacker.

Now, police are hoping the public can help identify a man seen at the takeaway between 1.50am and 2.15am.

Police say he came to the assistance of the two women following the altercation.

He is described as white, aged in his twenties, 5ft 10in to 6ft 2in, with short dark hair, unshaven with a Scottish accent and wearing a dark coloured long-sleeved top, blue jeans and dark footwear.

He is seen in the CCTV stills walking along the Seagate outside the takeaway, as well as outside bars in the area.

A spokesperson for the Tayside division of Police Scotland said: “If you know who this male is, know his movements either before or after his attendance at the kebab shop or were present there and remember the altercation, please contact police on 101.”
