Italian classic will bring curtain down on film society season

The Perth Film Society will end its successful season tonight with a rare big screen outing for Oscar-winning classic Cinema Paradiso.

The acclaimed Italian drama, written and directed by Giuseppe Tornatore, was recently remastered for its 25th anniversary.

It won the Grand Prix du Jury at the Cannes Film Festival, as well as best foreign language film at both the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards.

The film will be shown at Perth Concert Hall from 7.45pm.

The group is also planning an extra event on May 16 for a screening of award-winning documentary Unrest.

The evening is a partnership with the Scottish ME Society.
