Traders wanted for youth market
Young traders and entrepreneurs are being invited to take part in a special street market this summer as part of Perth’s contribution to the Year of Young People 2018.
On Saturday June 23, the Fair City will host the Diverse CiTay Festival, which will include a carnival parade followed by entertainment and activities on the North Inch.
Around 10,000 people are expected to attend the festival, which will be rounded off by a Mill Street youth market between 5 and 10pm.
Free pitches will be available for eight to 26-year-olds.
Organisers are looking for experienced traders who have already sold at street, youth and teen markets, as well as online entrepreneurs who want to bring their businesses off the computer and on to the streets.
The market will also be a chance for hobbyists and collectors to make some money from their collections of vintage clothes, vinyl records and comic books.
Young farmers and market gardeners are also being invited to take a stall.
The Year of Young People 2018 campaign, led by the Scottish Government, aims to celebrate the achievements of young people and create new opportunities for them to shine locally, nationally and globally.
