Perthshire children stars of show
Perthshire children are set to star in a film about animals that will be broadcast as part of a new production from Perth Theatre.
The show, Animals, is about interactions between humans and their four-legged friends, and how they can help us learn.
From the joy of delivering a new lamb to the pain of losing a pet dog, the play will explore how animals help us process our emotions.
Over the course of the last year, award-winning artist Greg Sinclair has worked with six-year olds at three Perthshire primary schools – Fairview , Forgandenny and St Ninian’s – and collected the children’s stories about their own relationships with animals.
He and fellow performer Hannah Venet will use a variety of performance styles to bring the stories to life, including live music, dance, lip-synching and film, alongside the recorded voices of the youngsters themselves.
The team behind the production say it has been an exploration of how to make sound and music into a visual and physical experience.
The aim is to makes the show more accessible for deaf and hearing-impaired audiencemembers, as well as those with learning disabilities.
The show is suitable for children aged six and over.
It will come to Birnam Arts Centre on May 29 at 2pm and Pitlochry Festival Theatre on June 3 at 2pm.
