AUCHTERARDER Auchterarder Macmillan Cancer Support Fundraising Group raised £835.97 through hosting a coffee morning.

The group will be holding its annual general meeting on May 8 at St Margaret’s Day Centre, Auchterarder.

The event will begin at 6.45pm.

PERTH

The Perth Encore Choir will hold its popular annual concert in Perth North Church, Mill Street, on Friday next week at 7.30pm.

The long-established choir now numbers 60 sopranos, altos, tenors and basses under the leadership of Colin Murray, and with accompanist Barbara Murray.

Tickets are available from any choir member, and are priced at £8 or £4 for schoolage children.

Alternatively, they will be available at the door on the night. CHRISTIAN AID Auchterarder Parish Church will be holding a Big Brekkie event to raise money for Christian Aid on Saturday May 12.

The breakfast will include toast, cereal, croissants and bacon rolls, and will run from 9am until 11am in the church centre.

FLOWERS

The Perthshire Alpine Flower Show – the largest of its kind in Scotland – will be held today at Bells Sport Centre, North Inch Perth.

The show of more than 200 plants will start at noon and run until 3.30pm.

Rare plants will be offered for sale from 10am.

QUIZ

A quiz night in aid of the Highland Perthshire Riding Group will be held at the Ailean Chraggan Hotel, Aberfeldy, on Thursday from 7.30pm.
