Soup-making workshop helps families waste less, save more

Families took part in a soup-making workshop in Kinross-shire as part of a ‘waste less, save more’ campaign.

The event at Loch Leven Community Campus was hosted by Kinross Weight Watchers Club and tied in with a money-saving drive by supermarket Sainsbury’s.

Participants were told how to make low-cost soups using ingredients which are often discarded. About a third of the average Perth and Kinross householder’s general waste bin contains food waste, most of which is still edible.
