Man on remand smashed up court CCTV and light switch

-

An Alyth man has been told he faces being sent back to prison, just weeks after he was released, after he smashed a court CCTV camera to pieces while he was in custody.

Mark Drummond, 31, admitted wilfully and recklessly damaging a camera and light switch without reasonable excuse while he was on remand at Perth Sheriff Court on November 9 last year.

Drummond, of Mart Street, Alyth, was told by Sheriff Gillian Wade his sentence would be deferred for background reports, but it was not an indication he would be avoiding jail.

The court heard Drummond suffered from anger management issues and had been held for another matter.

He will return to court for sentence on May 30.
