Antiques valuation day in Perth

-

An Antiques Roadshow-style valuation day will be held in Perth on Friday.

Local expert Nick Burns, from Lindsay Burns and Co, will be assessing items at the event in McCarthy and Stone’s Conacher Bank development.

It is a chance for locals to discover the true value of any treasured possessions and heirlooms.

Nick will give a presentation on valuations and how they are carried out, and he’ll also talk about the unexpected items that he has found in unassuming places.

Mr Burns recently recovered about £80,000 worth of gold coins from a hoarder’s cottage in rural Perthshire.

After his talk, he will be on hand to value everything from ceramics and postcards to paintings and jewellery.

The valuation starts at the Isla Road estate from 11am.

Spaces will be limited and guests are advised to bring only two items each. Organisers have asked people not to take along pieces of furniture.

Lorraine Paterson of McCarthy and Stone in Scotland, said: “Our antique valuation event at Conachar Bank is a great way for homeowners and guests to come along to get items priced up by a local antiques expert, while also experiencing for themselves the lifestyle we have on offer here for local retirees.”

She said it was also an opportunity for visitors to see the retirement homes which opened last year.
