Learning Disability Week events
Learning Disability Week events in Perth and Kinross will be launched with a celebratory gathering at Bell’s Sports Centre.
The occasion celebrates the lives and talents of people with learning disabilities in Scotland.
The theme this year is My Generation, to mark 2018 Year of Young People. It aims to focus on the experiences of young people as well as encouraging residents with learning disabilities of all ages to reflect on the things that summed up their younger lives.
A series of events will take place throughout the week and across the area.
Perth and Kinross Council housing and communities convener Peter Barrett said: “Learning Disability Week gives individuals a fantastic opportunity to come together and celebrate the huge range of talents and achievements of people with learning disabilities in Perth and Kinross.”
Further events and activities will be announced in the leadup to the week, which is taking place from next Monday until next Sunday. Go to Your CommunityPK.org for more.
The launch event at Bell’s Sports Centre will take place next Monday from 10am to noon and is open to members of the public.
