An online troll who twice taunted the distraught family of missing man Allan Bryant is back behind bars, after allegedly breaching his bail conditions.

Stewart McInroy appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court where he was due to be sentenced after previously admitting two charges of targeting the family via Facebook Messenger.

The latest offence was committed shortly after he was released from a nine-month jail term for sending a woman online rape threats.

The 27-year-old sent a series of sick Facebook messages to Allan Bryant Sr and the missing man’s sister, Amy, 22, on March 7.

McInroy, who was previously jailed for taunting the family and saying he had tortured their loved one, appeared in front of Sheriff Alastair Thornton. However, the court was told social work reports had not been completed because McInroy had been remanded in custody over another matter.

The troll is alleged to have breached a special bail condition imposed when he pled guilty on April 19. He was banned from accessing social media in any way but is alleged to have broken that on June 22 and 23.

An intermediate diet for the alleged breach is scheduled to take place next week, before recalling on June 1.

Sheriff Thornton told the court he was aware of the “significant public interest” in the case and would deal with both matters together next month.

He added that he had seen screenshots of the vile taunts and read a victim impact statement from Allan Bryant Sr.
