Testing European ties

-

Grange will represent Scotland in the European Club Trophy in Vienna from today to Monday.

They face Stroitel Brest (Belarus) today, Poznan (Poland) tomorrow and Minsk (Belarus) on Sunday before a crossover match on Monday.

The results of these matches will add to the process used to determine Scotland’s club status in Europe but is unlikely to have any effect on Scotland’s overall representation, one team – Grove Menzieshill – in the premier event, the EuroHockey League, and one at the lower level. That level will be determined by Grange in Vienna and it is Grange who will be represent Scotland next season.

The Midland League draws to its close this weekend but with time to play outstanding matches up to May 27, a number of teams have matches fitted in, including midweek matches, up to that time.

The destiny of the First Division title lies between St Andrews University II, Wanderers III and Perthshire II so much will depend on getting games up to date.

Fixtures: Tomorrow, Midland League Division 1 – Perthshire II v Wanderers III, Harris II v Monarchs II (11.30am DISC), Madras v Grove Menzieshill III, Wanderers IV v Perthshire III. Sunday, Midland League Division 2 – Grove Menzieshill V v Perthshire IV (1pm DISC), Harris III v Madras II, Wanderers V v Monarchs III.
