Dundee Stars sign Connor Cox

Dundee Stars have signed defenseman Connor Cox.

Cox joins the club from the Saskatchew­an University where he iced on 120 occasions in the USport league.

The 25-year-old also brings a wealth of experience from the WHL where he recorded 105 points in 278 games.

Stars general manager Omar Pacha was delighted to bring Connor on board for the next season.

“Connor is a really smooth skating defenseman and plays the puck extremely well,” he said.

“He joins us from one of the best university hockey programmes in Canada and will be a big asset in this league.

“Connor will be playing in many different situations here at the Stars and we are looking forward to working with him over the coming season.”

Meanwhile Stars have announced Kitmart as their title sponsors.

The local sports equipment distributo­r has been backing the Stars for the past three seasons and will this year be their first as main sponsor.

Pacha added: “We have had a great relationsh­ip over the past few seasons with the firm and we are looking forward to working closely together in the coming year.”

Stars’ early bird season ticket deal will be available to supporters purchasing tickets up until the end of the month.
