Zamjar backed to complete sprint hat-trick

Robert Cowell’s charge relishes return to grass after all-weather wins

ZAMJAR can bring up his hat-trick in the Watch Racing UK In Stunning HD Handicap at Redcar.

The four-year-old struck gold in two of his three all-weather starts this term and has proved capable on the turf in the past, winning twice.

He has not run on the grass since last August but arrives here in fine form and should blaze a trail over this five furlongs. LA SIOUX is the pick in the Racing UK Straight Mile Fillies’ Handicap for Richard Fahey.

She stayed on far too late in the day at Catterick last time out, when easy ground and losing a shoe certainly would not have helped her chances.

Stepping back up to a mile looks a logical choice.

Keith Dalgleish’s UPTOWN FUNK was a beaten favourite last time out at Ripon but looks to be the answer in the Smarkets.Com Brisco Handicap at Carlisle.

A winner over hurdles at Musselburgh, the four-year-old showed enough when finishing third to On Fire on the flat to merit another chance. SELECTIONS CARLISLE: 2.15 True Mason, 2.45 Cherry Oak, 3.15 Uptown Funk, 3.45 Aclimatise, 4.15 Dazzle Gold, 4.45 Placebo Effect, 5.15 Sureyoutoldme, 5.45 Mishaal.
