Man, 20, charged over alleged sex attack near nightclub

A young man has been charged in connection with an alleged sexual assault in Perth.

An investigation was carried out earlier this year after reports of an attack near the Ice Factory nightclub on Shore Road.

Forensic teams were seen combing a cordoned-off area of waste ground near the venue.

A force spokesman said yesterday: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 20-year-old man has been charged in connection with a serious sexual assault outside the Ice Factory nightclub in Perth on January 28.

“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”

The man will appear at Perth Sheriff Court in due course.
