Celtic need to be “cleverer, better on the edge and also gain a competitiv­e advantage” to stay ahead of the game, claims Peter Lawwell.

He said: “We’ve got a core business which I think has worked well,

“These are the mantras – create, build, add value.

“For example we bring an under-valued player in, coach him, develop him, make him better and put him on the stage at Celtic Park, hopefully put him in the Champions League, and if the player wants to move on we transfer him to England and invest the money back into the club.

“That strategy has resulted in us dominating in Scotland.”
