Killin will come alive this weekend when the village music festival kicks off on Friday.

The first day includes performances from Blazin’ Fiddles and Niteworks.

On Saturday there are workshops and fairs, as well as music from the Peatbog Faeries and Hò-rò before the festival is closed by Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain on Sunday.

KINROSS-SHIRE

A day to celebrate all things broccoli will be held for the second time.

Loch Leven’s Larder, near Kinross, will hold its second broccoli festival next month, following the success of last year’s event.

There will be workshops, a market, farm tour, games, a barbecue and a silent disco during the festival on July 14, all following the theme of the green vegetable.

Loch Leven’s Larder is owned and run by the Niven family, third generation broccoli farmers who make the most of Kinross-shire’s broccoli-growing temperatures.

Entry during the day is free but evening tickets are £20 per person to pay for the barbecue and headphones for the silent disco.
