House prices up £110,000

The average house price has risen by more than £110,000 since Scotland last took part in the World Cup.

Bank of Scotland research showed house prices have increase by 175% in the last 20 years from £63,559 in 1998 to £174,712 today.

Inverness has seen the biggest increase, with the 1998 average £53,118 compared with £190,537 now.

Meanwhile, Westhill in Aberdeensh­ire is still the most expensive town to buy a home in. The average price tag there was £91,746 in 1998, while today the figure is £250,787.
