CARNIVAL TIME Perth’s biggest ever carnival procession will take place on Saturday June 23.

As part of the Year of Young People, the Diverse CiTay Festival will feature a procession of floats, marching bands and street entertaine­rs.

They will set off from South Inch car park from 12.30pm and head towards North Inch.

Community groups, youth groups and other organisati­ons are being urged to book their place in the extravagan­za. For details, email DiverseCiT­ay,perth@uhi.ac.uk

CANOE CHALLENGE Supporters are being urged to cheer on a trio of young Aberfeldy adventurer­s when they take on a fundraisin­g canoe challenge this weekend.

Twins Kirsten and Lewis Steele and friend Alex MacIver will be canoeing from Killin to Kenmore, a distance of 15 miles, on Saturday. The event will help pay their way to the World Scout Jamboree in America.

Supporters are encouraged to cheer them on at a barbecue party on Kenmore beach from 4pm.

FLOWER FESTIVAL A three-day flower festival will be held at Luncarty Church Centre from tomorrow.

It runs from 2pm to 5pm on day one; 10am-4pm on Saturday and 1.30pm to 4pm on Sunday.

This year’s theme is ‘holiday memories’ and there will be various stalls, plus artwork by pupils of Luncarty and Stanley primary schools.

Entry is by donation.
