PERTH

Balnacraig School in Perth has won three awards in the last month for wages and staff developmen­t.

The residentia­l school was given Living Wage status as well as an outstandin­g award for leading learners, given by the Centre of Excellence for Looked After Children.

This came at the same time as the school, which offers additional learning support, received gold status from Investors in People, for putting the young people at the school at the centre of everything staff do.

FESTIVAL

A free shuttle bus is available to take youngsters from all over Perth and Kinross to the Diverse CiTay festival today.

The service will take attendees into the city centre in the afternoon and back home after the event, which celebrates the Year of Young People.

It will pick up and drop off in Kinross, Invergowri­e, Alyth, Aberfeldy, Comrie and Blackford, as well as stops on the way into the city centre.

PITLOCHRY

A guided walk will be held in Pitlochry today in a bid to spot swifts.

The free event starts at Pitlochry Library in Atholl Road from 8.30pm to 10pm.

The walk, run by the Pitlochry Swift Conservati­on Project, is suitable for all abilities, is around one mile long and there is no need to book.
