Hibs star swaps Leith for Stadium of Light

Scotland international Dylan McGeouch has completed amove to Sunderland on a free transfer.

The 25-year-old midfielder was out of contract having turned down the offer of a new deal at Hibernian.

McGeouch forced his way into the Scotland set-up with a series of impressive performances for Hibs during their first campaign back in the Ladbrokes Premiership, and was linked with a move to Rangers at the end of last season.

He is the second signing from Scotland to join up with new boss Jack Ross at the Stadium of Light after Jon McLaughlin, another recent cap for his country, joined on a free from Hearts.

Ross said: “Dylan has been really good for Hibernian and that has culminated in him earning international recognition.

“There were a lot of teams interested in him because he’s at a good stage in his career and he’s absolutely desperate to come down to England and show people how good a player he is.

“The fans will like him because he’s got a lot of quality.”

Hibs, meanwhile, have signed up Liverpool goalkeeper Adam Bogdan on a season-long loan deal.

The Merseysiders confirmed the move had been completed ahead of Hibernian’s Europa League clash against NSI Runavik on July 12.

The 30-year-old Hungarian has made six first-team appearances for Liverpool and had a loan spell at Wigan in 2016.
