Firm responds to planning delay
A housebuilder has responded to criticism of its plan to build more than 100 homes in Blairgowrie.
The new scheme by Stewart Milne Homes for land off Piggy Lane was delayed at council talks on Wednesday.
Objectors say the plan will lead to “over development”, and have complained about parking.
Stewart Milne said that complaints were being addressed, or had already been resolved.
Managing director John Low said: “Land for new housing in Blairgowrie was identified by Perth and Kinross Council in response to significant demand for housing and economic regeneration in the region.
“The land in question is within an existing development plan, which has already been approved by Perth and Kinross Council. The current application is focused on the more detailed designs for the new homes and infrastructure investment for Blairgowrie, which will result in increased job creation and increased economic activity within the region.
“As with all our Stewart Milne Home developments, we are committed to carefully considering the location and mix of housing types required to support the economic objectives of the region, as well as the needs of the new residents and wider community.
“The new high-quality homes are to be designed in a style that is consistent with neighbouring dwellings.”
