‘No compassion or kindness’ shown by minister – accuser

“He laid into me, he was red in the face, he was blaming me for everything

The woman at the centre of the storm said she first met Professor Bradley while staying with friends in St Andrews late in 2015. It was at a church service where she “heard this lovely voice”. The musician, 61, started chatting with both Prof Bradley and his wife about the service. A few days later she said he made contact, inviting her to tour the college. “We just got on really well, chatting about all sorts of things, about university and music. “We just hit it off really well but I did not fancy him at all.” She returned to the home she shared with her husband and family in England. Prof Bradley got in touch in the middle of the following year and their relationship escalated. She said: “I just felt amazing and felt young again. “It was very intense, his messages were very romantic. “We were connected in every way.” They arranged a tryst in Argyll in October 2016, a time she said “we were just so happy to be with one another”. She said she had not thought about their spouses as she was “swept up in it all, it was just like a dream”. The relationship broke down and, by now going through a divorce, she said they arranged to meet for a meal in Glasgow in December last year. She said it was initially lovely to see him, but claimed he shouted at her in the restaurant. “He laid into me, he was red in the face, he was blaming me for everything.” She felt as a minister he should be showing her compassion and so she complained to the Presbytery of St Andrews. “He was supposed to be kind. “I was very hurt and I did not want him to upset anyone else. “I was not just doing it be to vindictive, but he showed no compassion and kindness.”
