Police warning following counterfeit money incidents
Retailers in Perth and Kinross are being urged to be vigilant following recent incidents of counterfeit money being used in shops.
Two separate crimes – one in the Carse of Gowrie and one in Perth – involved criminals using illegal Royal Bank of Scotland £20 notes.
A police spokesperson said: “Retailers are reminded to be vigilant when large notes are being tendered, particularly for small value goods where a lot of change is required.”
Elsewhere, vandals broke a window at a property in Muirton Place, Perth, overnight September 24/25.
Four tyres were damaged on a white Fiat 500, which had been parked in Firbank Road, Perth, overnight September 20/21.
And officers are trying to trace a man suspected of stealing two sheets of metal from a flatbed lorry, parked at T&F Garage, Dunkeld Road, Perth, around 6pm on September 22.
Thieves stole a pair of Hunter wellies and a pair of black Nike trainers from a close at Newhouse Road, Perth, overnight September 18/19.
A blue Suzuki moped was stolen from Gillespie Place, Perth, overnight September 23/24.
Windows of a grey Ford C-Max, parked in Manson Crescent, Perth, were smashed overnight September 21/22.
Vandals damaged tyres of a blue Ford Focus, parked on Dunkeld Road, Perth, at 12.45pm on September 23.
Paintwork was scratched on a Kia Rio, parked in Mill Court, Bridge of Earn, overnight September 22/23.
