President Janet McConnell welcomed everyone and congratula­ted all who had taken part in competitio­ns over the summer, particular­ly on winning the Community Handcrafts competitio­n at Perth Show for the first time. ERROL. Freda Scott introduced Joyce McIntosh from Ye Amphibious Ancients Bathing Associatio­n (the Phibbies) who spoke about the history of the organisati­on and the open water swimming events it arranges, including the famous New Year’s Day dook at Broughty Ferry. DUNNING. President Lesley McRae welcomed Andy Paterson who entertaine­d by showing photograph­s of celebritie­s when they were much younger and members had to guess who they were. Janette Peebles read amusing sayings about being over 50. AUCHTERMUC­HTY. President Barbara Acheson welcomed members and visitors and invited everyone to enjoy the Pot Luck supper. Mary Hutchison, who apologised in advance to anyone who could not understand the Doric, entertaine­d with a mixture of poems and ballads. CAMERON. President Joy Straith welcomed members and introduced Louise Carstairs from Colinsburg­h who gave a talk on her business which has evolved from growing flowers on the family farm to the large home goods enterprise it is today.
