Dalziel makes it 71 for Kelty as Fife side go top of Lowland

Kelty Hearts went to the top of the Lowland League with a 3-0 win away from home at Gretna 2008.

The Fife side took the lead when Scott Dalziel netted his 70th goal for the club and Willis Hare scored his first for Kelty to make it two.

Gretna’s Charlie Exely was shown a red card for bringing down Hare but the home side regrouped and pulled a goal back through Liam Studholme.

Hearts struggled to break down the 10 men but made sure of the win when Dalziel added his second of the afternoon.

Central Taxis East of Scotland League Conference A

Oakley United went down at Coldstream. Bailey Paterson with two and a third for Chris Dixon saw the Borderers to a 3-2 win, with Richard Carroll and James McAteer scoring for Oakley.

Hill of Beath are hot on the heals of Newtongran­ge Star and Penicuik Athletic.

Kevin Fotheringh­am’s si de made it five wins from five with a comfortabl­e 4-0 win at home to Peebles Rovers, with goals from Lewis Elder, Calum Adamson, Lee Reid and Greig Smith.

Conference B

Crossgates took advantage of both Haddington and Tynecastle dropping points to climb to seventh in Conference B after a 2-0 win at home to Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale.

Scott Hynd scored the first for Primrose in first-half stoppage time and Dale Allen made it 2-0 just after the hour-mark.

Dundonald are second behind Bonnyrigg Rose on goal difference after a 1-0 win at home to Dalkeith Thistle at Moorside Park. The winner came from Jack McDonald of the club’s U19s who was playing as a trialist.

Burntislan­d Shipyard remain next to bottom after a heavy 7-0 defeat to Tranent,

Conference C

Jeanfield Swifts are hot on the tail of Broxburn Athletic in Conference C after they were 5-1 winners at Camelon.

Chris Dodd scored twice, with the others coming from Chris Anton, Richard Donovan and an own goal.

St Andrews United surrendere­d a 2-0 lead away to Edinburgh United. Saints took an early lead when Frank Arthur headed into his own net and added a second through Gary Graham before Gabri Auriemma and Kern Hutchison levelled for Edinburgh.

Inverkeith­ing Hillfield Swifts went down 4-1 at home to Blackburn United.
