Wedding win at Perth hotel is icing on cake for happy couple
A Perthshire couple received the ultimate engagement gift by winning a free wedding at a local hotel.
Jillian Adamson and Ian Davidson, from Blairgowrie, were the lucky winners of the Leonardo Boutique Hotel Huntingtower’s Win a Wedding competition.
Student nurse Jillian and Ian, a mechanical engineering student, have a one-year-old daughter, Arianna.
The couple, who met eight years ago, won the prize, worth £2,500. The package caters for up to 50 guests at the Crieff Road country house hotel.
The couple won the award after writing 100 words about why they deserved the prize.
Jillian said: “We’re absolutely overwhelmed to win and can’t thank the hotel enough for the prize.
“It was the happiest day of my life when I said yes but this just makes it even more special. We can’t wait to celebrate in such an amazing setting.”
Diane Valentine, general manager at Leonardo Boutique Hotel Huntingtower Perth, said: “When I first called Jillian to break the news she was actually in the library so she had to keep quiet even when she was jumping about for joy.
“I told her: ‘I’m afraid it’s not good news – it’s amazing news’.
“This probably didn’t help while she was in such a quiet environment.
“We’re all thrilled to have such a great young couple win the prize.
“We can’t wait to share their special day with them next year here at the hotel.
“I would like to thank all the other entrants as we had some amazing entries.”
Jillian and Ian will get married on September 19 next year.
