Train disruption for Perth users
Work on train lines south of Perth will lead to a week of disruptions for Perth commuters.
ScotRail has started the next phase of electrification across its central Scotland routes.
The line between Larbert and Dunblane will be closed until Sunday.
The move means rail users will have to use a bus replacement service for trips from Perth to Glasgow and Falkirk Grahamston.
The work is scheduled to be completed by the weekend, so normal service can resume on Monday.
Routes to Dundee, Aberdeen and Inverness are not affected.
ScotRail says the programme will enable it to introduce more seats on services.
The company also intends to scrap bus service replacement services between Perth and Glasgow on Sundays.
ScotRail head of customer operations Phil Campbell said: “We are building the best railway that Scotland has ever had, and these works are a step towards that. The work Network Rail is carrying out will deliver faster journeys, more seats and better services for our customers.
“We understand it’s frustrating when your journey is disrupted, so we’re doing all we can to keep customers moving.
“Customers are encouraged to leave extra time for travel, and plan journeys in advance. They can do this on our website, or by downloading our free app.”
