President Christine Strathie welcomed Jane Sheldon, area co-ordinator from Project Linus UK, a volunteer organisati­on providing donated homemade patchwork quilts and knitted blankets to children in Perth and Kinross. CARNBO. President Jay Hutchison welcomed members. Lesley Bruce of Cala Jewellery gave a talk on the items she makes. Josephine Paterson and Margaret Greener were awarded the shields won for their community entries in the Kinross Show. President Margaret Scott welcomed ladies from Cleish SWI and they provided the evening’s entertainm­ent, which included jam and chutney tasting and a quiz. BURRELTON and WOODSIDE. President Irene Smith welcomed members. Dr Nicola Small, local history officer with Perth and Kinross Council, gave a talk on her work with the local and family history department at AK Bell Library in Perth. KILRENNY. President Jenny Watson welcomed members from New Gilston. The guests entertaine­d with a Shakespear­e sketch and two quizzes. AUCHTERMUC­HTY. Members visited Glass by Kathryn at the Cart Shed at Wester Glasslie where they were welcomed by Kathryn and her mother Susan. Kathryn talked about her business and how she designs and makes her handmade glass products. Raffle gifts donated by Kathryn were won by Ena Hardie, Shirley Marshall and Val McKinnon. Competitio­ns: photo of a flower – Posie Ridley; flower of the month – Janette Syme. BLAIRADAM. President Ruby Hughes welcomed members and guests. The speaker gave a talk on the 1960s. KIRKFORTHA­R FEUS. H Baisley welcomed Margaret Porter who advised of the benefits of a sugar-free diet. Competitio­n: flower of the month – B Smith.

Balmullo president Ann Falconer welcomed members from Abdie, Balmerino, Balmullo, Craigrothi­e, Cults and District, Dairsie and Kilmany, plus judges from Kilrenny SWI, to the Cupar Group autumn meeting. Members were entertaine­d by U3A Cupalele ensemble.
