COLLACE and KINROSSIE. President Christine Strathie welcomed Jane Sheldon, area co-ordinator from Project Linus UK, a volunteer organisation providing donated homemade patchwork quilts and knitted blankets to children in Perth and Kinross. Competitions: energy bar – 1 Janet Rougvie, 2 Sue Gray; knitted trauma teddy (for donation to the police) – 1 Mary Martin, 2 Anne Mailer.

CARNBO. President Jay Hutchison welcomed members. Lesley Bruce of Cala Jewellery gave a talk on the items she makes. Josephine Paterson and Margaret Greener were awarded the shields won for their community entries in the Kinross Show. Competitions: flower of the month – Sheila Reid; piece of homemade jewellery – Margaret Greener. GLENFARG. President Margaret Scott welcomed ladies from Cleish SWI and they provided the evening’s entertainment, which included jam and chutney tasting and a quiz. CLUNIE. President M Webster welcomed everyone. Vivien Milford from Perth and Kinross Council gave a talk on recycling. BURRELTON and WOODSIDE. President Irene Smith welcomed members. Dr Nicola Small, local history officer with Perth and Kinross Council, gave a talk on her work with the local and family history department at AK Bell Library in Perth. BUTTERSTONE. President Jane Gordon introduced Sandy Watts from Perth Citizens Advice Bureau who gave a talk about the organisation. Competitions: autumn photograph – 1 Marilyn Hale, 2 Iona O’Conner, 3 Liz Bruges.

KILRENNY. President Jenny Watson welcomed members from New Gilston. The guests entertained with a Shakespeare sketch and two quizzes. AUCHTERMUCHTY. Members visited Glass by Kathryn at the Cart Shed at Wester Glasslie where they were welcomed by Kathryn and her mother Susan. Kathryn talked about her business and how she designs and makes her handmade glass products. Raffle gifts donated by Kathryn were won by Ena Hardie, Shirley Marshall and Val McKinnon. Competitions: photo of a flower – Posie Ridley; flower of the month – Janette Syme. BLAIRADAM. President Ruby Hughes welcomed members and guests. The speaker gave a talk on the 1960s. KIRKFORTHAR FEUS. H Baisley welcomed Margaret Porter who advised of the benefits of a sugar-free diet. Competition: flower of the month – B Smith.

CUPAR GROUP. Balmullo president Ann Falconer welcomed members from Abdie, Balmerino, Balmullo, Craigrothie, Cults and District, Dairsie and Kilmany, plus judges from Kilrenny SWI, to the Cupar Group autumn meeting. Members were entertained by U3A Cupalele ensemble.
