A number of Perthshire golf courses were honoured at the Scottish Golf Tourism Awards.

Perth’s Murrayshall Country House Hotel and Golf Club was named the best hotel with 21-50 rooms.

Gleneagles picked up the award for best catering.

It comes after the luxury landmark won the best experience title in 2017.

Pitlochry Golf Club also took home an award for having the best course under £50.

The winners were announced at a gala dinner attended by more than 400 guests at Fairmont St Andrews.

The Perthshire contenders were among a host of golf courses across Tayside and Fife which picked up major prizes.

Kingsbarns Links in Fife was declared the golfers’ favourite course, as well as winning the best customer service experience title.

Fairmont St Andrews scooped the award for the best hotel with more than 50 rooms.

The award for best clubhouse went to St Andrews Links Castle Course, while the Dukes Course in St Andrews won the value for money, £50-£100, category.

Crail Balcomie Links took the prize for best course in the £50 to £100 bracket, while Carnoustie Golf Links, host venue for The Open 2018, was chosen as the best course over £100.

There was a second award for Carnoustie on the night, with the special recognition award for services to golf tourism in Scotland being awarded to Pat Sawers, chairman of Carnoustie Golf Links, for outstanding service and commitment to the Scottish golf tourism industry.
