Cue Ali and Andy for new Breakfast Show

-

People across Dundee and Perth will have a new morning routine from tomorrow – thanks to their favourite radio station.

The Wave FM Breakfast Show with Ali and Andy launches in the morning, hosted by Ali DeFoy and Andy Bullick.

The pair will share presenting duties while bringing listeners a selection of great music from the 1990s to the present day – and lots of other features – from 6.10am.

Andy is a familiar voice, having hosted the Wave FM breakfast show since earlier this year.

Ali, 33, joined the station recently, presenting an afternoon show, but is now looking forward to taking up a new role earlier in the day.

Hailing from the Paisley area, the St Mirren FC fan has worked in television for 15 years. Ali said: “Andy and I can’t wait to bring you music, guests, competitions and other events we have planned.

“We’re looking forward to having a good rapport on the show and making it as exciting and interesting for our listeners as we can.

“There’s lots planned including cash competitions and a new feature called Workplace Anthems – where local businesses can get in touch with a little bit of information about what they’re up to and then choose three songs to be played back-to-back.”

Dundee United fan Andy is originally from Northern Ireland but has lived in the city for eight years, previously studying politics at Dundee University before taking up his role at Wave FM.

He also enjoys doing stand-up comedy in his spare time.

He said: “We will be working on the breakfast show to get our listeners up and ready for the day and take them on their journey to work or help with the school run – whatever it is people are doing at that time of morning.”

Wave FM – on 102FM in Dundee and 106.6FM in Perth – also features hourly news bulletins from the DC Thomson Media Centre.
