Devils clash holds no fears for Flyers

-

Fife Flyers travel to Cardiff Devils tonight with the Welsh side reeling after two straight defeats.

The play-off and league champions have 18 points from 12 Elite League fixtures and sit fourth in the table.

This follows a confidencesapping 6-4 defeat at home to Coventry Blaze on Saturday, followed 24 hours later by a 3-2 reverse at Nottingham Panthers.

Devils go into the game with a 7-2 victory over Fife on their previous visit to Wales three weeks ago.

Fife should have no fears ahead of the visit as Paul Crowder, a former Cardiff star, is second in the all games points charts with 27 from 10 goals and 17 assists from 18 starts.

Meanwhile Dundee Stars will play Belfast Giants in the League Cup quarter-finals

The teams will play legs home and away with the winner on aggregate advancing to the semifinals.

Stars head coach Omar Pacha is confident his side can do well against the Giants.

He said: “I like our chances against Belfast and I am actually happy they picked us.

“To be honest, out of all the teams, I thought we matched up well against them.

“Even in the last game I thought we missed some really nice opportunities.

“Playing against any team in this league is a challenge but I think we have a good chance of playing a strong game against them.”

The first leg will be in Dundee on Wednesday November 28 with the return in Belfast on Tuesday December 11.

The other three quarter-finals see Cardiff Devils face Glasgow Clan, Nottingham Panthers take on Manchester Storm and Guildford Flames play Sheffield Steelers.
