Menga offered two-game ban after alleged headbutt attempt

-

Livingston striker Dolly Menga has been offered a two-game ban after allegedly aiming a headbutt at Celtic forward Ryan Christie.

The Angolan was caught on camera motioning his head into the face of the Hoops ace during Sunday’s 0-0 draw at the Tony Macaroni Arena.

The incident was missed by referee Keven Clancy but Menga has now been handed a fast track notice of complaint from Scottish Football Association compliance officer Clare Whyte.

If he accepts the violent conduct charge, he will miss Livi’s next two games against Rangers and Motherwell.

A hearing has been set for tomorrow.

Forfar manager Jim Weir has advised that striker Matty Aitken is set to go for a scan on the knee injury that has kept him out of action for the last month amid fears that surgery may be required.

The 21-year-old has not played since the 4-0 defeat to East Fife on October 6 and Weir is reluctant to put a date on when he could return .

He explained: “We need to find out a bit more about Matty’s injury as it is not clearing up as quickly as we would like.”

“A scan is probably the best way forward as an operation may well be needed.”

English League 2 side Carlisle United have appointed former Arbroath, East Fife and Raith Rovers keeper Craig Wight as their new goalkeeping coach.

And former Lichties striker Bryan Prunty has taken up a backroom post under Ian Murray at Airdrieonians.
