New owner for Perth dental firm

-

One of Perth’s largest dental companies has changed hands.

Caledonian Dental Care has been sold to Portman Dental Care for an undisclosed sum.

It is the latest in a number of groups to be acquired by Portman as it expands north of the border.

Caledonian, owned by Dr John Cockburn and Dr Mike San, comprises two large practices with a total of 19 surgeries and 40,000 registered patients.

It includes the modern, purpose-built practice with eight surgeries on Kinnoull Causeway.

Dr Cockburn said: “We are looking forward to working with Portman Dental to continue to provide our local community with excellent dental care.”

Steve Christie, of Portman Dental Care, said: “We are delighted to welcome John, Mike and the team to Portman.

“The outstanding quality at Caledonian Dental Care complements our growing Portman network within Scotland. This is our sixth acquisition in Scotland this year, having acquired our first Scottish practice in March.”

Paul Graham, director at Christie & Co, which handled the sale, said there had been significant interest and a number of bids.

He said: “Mike and John have done an incredible job building their practice into the sizeable, thriving operation it is today at the heart of its community.”
