Tricky trip facing Port and new boss Kay

Manager picks from strong squad for visit to Fauldhouse

- MARK JOHNSON John Edward.

It may be a cliché, but there are no easy games in the Super League and that is certainly the case for new Tayport boss Stevie Kay as he takes his new side to West Lothian to face Fauldhouse United.

Kay is able to name a full squad, other than broken leg victim Struan Christie, for the game.

Kirriemuir Thistle face Forfar West End at Westview Park in an Angus derby after the sides had very different results in Fife last weekend.

Kirriemuir were well beaten by Kennoway Star Hearts 4-0 while Forfar West End beat Thornton 4-1 at Memorial Park.

Kirrie boss Chris Kettles is without Ross Grant and Paul Sludden while Gavin Tinley has left the club. Kettles has an injury doubt over Sam King while West End are likely to have the same squad available with Cammy McMahon, Craig Bell and David Ray all out injured.

Whitburn and Kennoway Star Hearts enjoyed important wins last weekend so Hearts’ trip to Central Park takes on added importance as they both try to move away from the clubs below them.

Kennoway boss Kevin Byers was delighted at his side’s 4-0 win over Kirrie last time out and will want the same level of commitment. Byers expects to have the same players available.

The East Craigie management team were far from impressed at their side’s defeat at home to Kinnoull and have demanded an instant response as they face Blairgowrie in the Premier League North at Craigie Park. The Dundee side expect to have the same squad available.

Blairgowrie boss Mark Brash is again blighted by injuries after last week’s home defeat by Forfar Albion. Brash is without Rudi Brown, Jack Dempster and Robbie Hood for the game.

Kirkcaldy YM face the only team to have beaten runaway Premier League South leaders Pumpherston, Armadale Thistle, at Denfield Park. They will be hoping that there is no repeat of the opening day result when Thistle beat YM 5-0 at Volunteer Park. Craig Ness is expected to have the same side available that lost 2-1 at Livingston United.

Lochore Welfare have been resurgent under James Adam and the Welfare boss takes his troops to Station Park to face Livingston United. Adam has a couple of injury concerns.

Struggling Lochgelly Albert went down 3-1 last weekend to Lochore, manager Andy Healy’s old club, and this week face a visit from one of the form sides, Bathgate Thistle. Albert will leave it late but expect to have a full squad.

Newburgh lost their 100% record last time they were at East Shore Park and manager Scott Hudson will want to start a run with the visit of West Calder United. Hudson expects to have the same squad that won their first away game last week at Stoneyburn

Montrose Roselea travel to Glenury Park for a local derby against Stonehaven in the North Super League.

The sides met at Links Park in the League Cup back in August with Roselea running out 3-1 winners.

After last week’s tough draw at Bridge of Don, Roselea will be looking to get back to winning ways and maintain their position at the top of the table.

Roselea will be without the unavailable Stephen Greig and Joe Aitken is a doubt. Lloyd Hester is longterm injured and Callum Rae is still sidelined with an ankle injury.
