SCOTTISH CUP:

- PETER RUNDO

Only two Courier Country clubs are through to the last 16 of the Scottish Cup, though Carnoustie Panmure and Thornton Hibs have still to play their home ties after they were postponed on Saturday.

Rosyth are through after a 2-0 home win over Annbank United. Jason Keith put Recs in front after 12 minutes and a second from Dale Prattis on 63 minutes rubber-stamped their passport to the fifth round.

Lochee United join Rosyth in the next round after beating Carluke Rovers 3-1.

Graham Walker gave Glenrothes the lead after three minutes but Ayrshire hosts Craigmark hit back with two goals to go through.

Perthshire’s last hope, Luncarty, lost out to west of Scotland side St Roch’s, going down 3-0 at James McGrory Park.

Jordan Logan opened the scoring on 34 minutes but only a brilliant save from a Tony Holt free-kick prevented the Bleachers levelling.

But that was as good as it got for the visitors who conceded goals from Anthony O’Kane on 57 minutes and Kieran Martin in stoppage-time.

Cambuslang Rangers proved too strong for North End, who were beaten 4-0 at home, while Violet were thumped 7-1 away to Girvan. DJ Laing Challenge Cup

Kinnoull just edged out Brechin Vics 3-2 in their DJ Laing Challenge Cup tie despite going three goals ahead.

Only a superb save by home keeper Jordan Kinnon from a Ricky Gillespie penalty 15 minutes from time prevented a penalty shoot-out.

Mark Smith (2) and Liam Woolley put the hosts seemingly on the victory path. However, it was all change in the second half with Gillespie quickly reducing the leeway and Liam Bailey getting a second ahead of Gillespie’s spot-kick failure.

Super League

New Tayport boss Stevie Kay is still wating for his first victory but at least the 1-1 draw at Fauldhouse arrested a run of four consecutive defeats.

Dayle Robertson gave the Fifers the lead after 36 minutes, but the home side fashioned an equaliser 20 minutes from time.

Kennoway Star Hearts gave as good as the got in the first half only to go down 4-1 at Whitburn.

An even first half ended all-square with Dylan Muir on target for the visitors. However, Hearts were second best in the second half with the home side running in three goals.
