Montrose lost Michael Bolochowec­kyj in the first minute of stoppage-time when he got involved in something off the ball and was shown a straight red card.

Petrie added: “The referee said it was violent conduct. I will need to see it again but when I do I will speak to Michael. It is very disappoint­ing when one of your senior players gets sent off.”

The teams will meet again at Galabank tomorrow for the right to host Dundee United in round four.
